Dr. Moussa Ibrahim Delivers Lecture on Patrice Lumumba’s Legacy to Young African Leaders

The African Legacy Foundation recently hosted an online lecture led by Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, Executive Secretary of the Foundation, on “Patrice Lumumba’s Intellectual Legacy and the Future of Liberation in Africa.”

The session marked the centenary of the birth of Patrice Lumumba, one of Africa’s most influential anti colonial leaders and a symbol of the continent’s struggle for freedom and sovereignty.

Sixteen young activists from six Anglophone and Francophone African countries participated in the discussion, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to connecting a new generation of Africans with the ideas and experiences of the continent’s historic liberation leaders.

Following the lecture, participants engaged in an extended discussion on the relevance of liberation movements to contemporary Africa. Topics included Pan African unity, sovereignty, and the enduring influence of African revolutionary thought. Participants also expressed strong interest in the political ideas and African vision of Muammar Gaddafi, leading to a wide ranging exchange on his contribution to debates surrounding African integration and self determination.
