Dr. Moussa Ibrahim Leads Pan African Media Training Session for Journalists Across Africa

Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, Executive Secretary of the African Legacy Foundation, led an intellectual and professional training session bringing together journalists from Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, and Mozambique.

The discussion explored a wide range of issues shaping the African continent, including development, civil conflicts, extractive economies, the structures of global capitalist domination, and the prospects for African consciousness, liberation, and sovereignty. Participants also reflected on the enduring legacy of African leaders, from Gamal Abdel Nasser to Ibrahim Traoré, and the relevance of their ideas to contemporary challenges.

The session further examined the role of new media technologies, opportunities for cross continental collaboration, and the importance of building alternative African media platforms capable of advancing independent narratives and strengthening Pan African perspectives.

The training forms part of a broader African media initiative developed by Dr. Moussa Ibrahim to support journalists and media professionals across the continent. Originally designed as a weekly program beginning in April, the initiative was temporarily delayed due to a period of illness before activities resumed with this session.

The African Legacy Foundation remains committed to strengthening African voices, preserving the continent’s liberation legacy, and supporting a new generation of media professionals dedicated to advancing African perspectives and contributing to the renaissance of the Global South.
