African Legacy Foundation Mourns the Passing of Founding Member Kaweche Kaunda

The African Legacy Foundation announces with profound sadness the passing of Kaweche Kaunda, a founding member of the Foundation, who passed away on 9 April 2026.

Kaweche Kaunda was a valued member of the Foundation from its establishment and contributed to its mission of preserving Africa’s liberation legacy and promoting Pan African unity. His commitment to the values of freedom, sovereignty, and historical memory reflected the vision upon which the Foundation was built.

His passing is deeply felt across the African Legacy Foundation. We extend our sincere condolences to the Kaunda family, the people of Zambia, and all those who knew and worked with him.

His legacy will remain part of the Foundation’s continuing mission to preserve the history of Africa’s liberation movements and inspire future generations.
